This document establishes
what every student in the Woodland Joint Unified School District
will know, do, and understand in support of academic excellence
and literacy. All seven Expected Districtwide Learning Results
are considered equally important.
I. LITERATE
PERSON
1. Meets the
standards in the content and performance documents in all academic
and vocational areas, including math, language arts, social science,
science foreign language, physical education, health, the visual/performing
arts, and vocational studies.
2. Accesses and uses technology
to calculate, solve problems, collect data and communicate.
3. Has opportunities to explore
other languages in order to function effectively in a global community.
II. EFFECTIVE
COMMUNICATOR
1. Conveys messages, ideas, thoughts,
feelings and beliefs to others by various methods.
2. Demonstrates understanding
of a variety of communication techniques including written, auditory,
visual, and non-verbal.
3.Listens carefully and responds appropriately.
III. COMPLEX
THINKER
1.Uses a variety of modes for thinking and reasoning.
(eg. critical, creative, imaginative)
2.Selects appropriate resources to gather
information.
3.Questions, analyzes and evaluates
gathered information.
4.Evaluates, adjusts problem solving
strategies.
5.Creates solutions and makes decisions.

QUALITY PRODUCER/PERFORMER
1. Decides what to do based on quality
standards.
2. Makes a plan on how to proceed.
3. Creates a well-crafted product/performance.
4. Evaluates, adjusts and documents
work in progress.
5. Presents final product that
meets established standards.
V. TEAM PLAYER/LEADER
1.Contribute to a group.
2.Maintains a positive atmosphere through
listening attentively to others, respecting individual differences,
and being sensitive to new ideas and requests.
3. Keeps groups on task(s) while working
toward solutions and striving for higher goals.
4. Offers and accepts constructive criticism.
5. Encourages others to strive higher
and praises each individual for her/his accomplishments and contributions.
6. Works to establish a vision
for the group.
VI. SELF-DIRECTED LIFE LONG LEARNER
1. Sets personal and
academic goals, both short and long term.
2. Monitors, adjusts, and reflects

3. Takes responsibility for own
success and learns from one's mistakes.

and regulations written for the school and the community.
