  Disruptive Devices, Electronic Signaling Devices, and Items of No Reasonable Use
 
  • Disruptive devices, including, but not limited to, CD players, I-Pods, headphones, radios, and electronic toys/games ARE NOT allowed to be used in classrooms.
     

  • Pagers, cell phones, text-messengers, two-way radios and any other electronic signaling devices are no longer prohibited on school campuses in the state of California. However, these items ARE NOT allowed to be turned on or in use during instructional time. The use of the camera function on camera phones may be considered a violation of privacy, and is not allowed.
     

  • Items of no reasonable use include, but are not limited to: permanent markers (Penal Code §594.2), laser pointers (Penal Code §417.27), aerosol containers (Penal Code §594.1), spikes (CA Ed. Code § 48900b) and water pistols.

 

Items confiscated on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday will be returned the following Friday.
 Items confiscated on Thursday or Friday will be returned the following Tuesday.

  • · 1st confiscation – Student may pick up the item.

  • · 2nd confiscation – Parent must pick up the item

  • · 3rd and subsequent confiscations – Parent must pick up the item, Student is sent home for the day and an absence will be recorded. 
     

  • Parents may bypass the three day minimum hold period for the 1st confiscation, but it will be considered an automatic step up to the second level of consequences,
