In order for you to receive monies and awards from the CalGrant system, the state of California requires that your GPA be verified by the registrar. In order to do this, you and your parents must give permission for your GPA information to be released. Generally this form should be completed by the end of January.

                     Scholarships

Free money from private individuals, public and private groups and organizations. Scholarships have their own application criteria and their own individual deadlines. Students and parents are encouraged to research and apply as early as possible.  There are many ways to search for national scholarships. Here is one website example:
COLLEGENET

We do not recommend that you send money to any scholarship search services. The same information is available free through the Counseling office or online.  Here is the Current Scholarship List through student services.  It is updated when the information for individual scholarships and awards becomes available.

For local, community Awards (Woodland, Yolo County and Northern California) and national awards please come to the Counseling Office and look through the PHS Scholarship binder.

Each spring, PHS awards scholarships made available through local individuals, organizations and companies. By filling out the Local Scholarship Application Form, you can apply for most of the local scholarships all at once, The deadline for the local scholarship form is the end of February each year.

If you are a member of a specific club, they may have scholarships available. Talk to your club advisor about specific information.

For Individual Colleges, Universities, Trade and Technical Schools:   Most post-high school institutions have their own financial aid offices, and  through those offices scholarships for those specific institutions may be available.
