Student Services

The Vision of the
PHS Counseling Department is two-fold:
To help each student earn a high school diploma
To help each student prepare for an appropriate post-high school goal of his or her choice
The basics of the Counseling Department:
Informational meetings with all freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors throughout each year
Mutual development of a flexible four-year academic plan
Monitoring progress towards graduation
Intervention meetings with at-risk students
Post-high school planning beginning freshman year and adjusted throughout high school.
Applications:

The Counseling Office has applications for:
• Financial aid and scholarships.
• Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT I) and SAT II.
• American College Test (ACT).
• Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (P.S.A.T.) Recommend for Juniors.
• NCAA Clearinghouse
• California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE)
