French Courses
French I
(10 credits)
This course focuses on the student's ability to communicate in French
on topics which are meaningful and lifelike. Oral proficiency is
stressed as well as grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary building.
Cultural activities, oral projects, and conversational activities are
also used to enhance the ability to speak, comprehend, read and write
French.
French II
(10 credits) Prerequisite: Student must have successfully completed
French I
This course continues to develop proficiency using the same activities
as in French I. In addition, reading and writing are further
emphasized and students will have the opportunity to prepare some
French food specialties.
French III
(10 credits) Prerequisite: Student should have successfully completed
French II
The emphasis of this course is to continue to develop oral
proficiency, written language, and readings of current events. The
stress is to strengthen conversation skills through oral and written
exercises and projects. Oral presentations are also included in this
class. Students will also do a comparative film project and prepare
French food specialties.
